Thanks to Keith and his vibrant management team, AGS always goes one step further in China.
Our newly opened branch, AGS Four Winds Chengdu has already demonstrated its involvement. The Chengdu branch was involved in a recent yard sale at the QSI International School in Chengdu, where proceeds went to the Roots and Shoots Foundation, an international youth empowerment organization.
AGS Four Winds Chengdu also attended a recent “Thirsty Thursday” held by the British Chamber of Commerce, south west China. Thirsty Thursday celebrates successful women, and Theresa Xie, Branch Manager of AGS Four Winds Chengdu, was a deserving attendee. In sport, the Chengdu Wanderers Football Club, in the first division of the Chengdu City football league, now proudly wears the AGS Four Winds logo.

Given that the 2008 event was a huge success, AGS Four Winds Shanghai participated once again in the Shanghai Boat Show Charity by sponsoring a Charity Regatta. In a joint effort with other participants and sailing enthusiasts, funds were raised to help autistic children and support them through special educational programs.
AGS Four Winds Shanghai was the only sponsor in the transportation sector and it organized buses to take participants from downtown Shanghai to the Shanghai Water Sports Center (on a lake outside the city) and back. The Sailing Club is home to the expatriate sailing community in Shanghai, so a large number of senior executives from multinational companies attended the event and contributed in raising more than 13,000 RMB. AGS Four Winds China’s Managing Director, Keith Ellis, took part in the regatta and came in third, undoubtedly owing to his AGS Four Wind’s sail!

At AGS we feel children are very important. And it is not only when moving families that we need to take special care but also in our day-to-day involvement. This is why AGS Four Winds Shanghai took part in the Kidexpo in Shanghai on 28 and 29 March, 2009. Thousands of parents and children attended with an estimated turnout of 15,000 visitors at the Shanghai Exhibition Center, and fun and educational activities were organized throughout the weekend.
All the major international schools in Shanghai were present, as well as international hospitals and other service providers. AGS Four Winds Shanghai lent its tents to create a stroller park, and AGS-branded gifts were handed out to all the participants.
At AGS we also like to show we can laugh and have fun. Following the example of AGS Four Winds Hong Kong, AGS Four Winds Shanghai sponsored the Punchline standup comedy show. This event is held twice a month, five months a year, and is attended by approximately 250 persons, each time. Every attendee receives AGS-branded gifts and a goody bag.
This show proved to be a huge success in 2008 and got widespread coverage in the local press and radio. At the start of the first show on 23 April, the organizers opened the event by thanking AGS in particular for its sponsorship, which was fantastic publicity for AGS Four Winds Shanghai. 2009 is expected to be even more successful!

The Hong Kong Sevens is held annually over the last weekend of March, and is one of the premier tournaments in the International Rugby Board (IRB) Sevens World Series. An annual dinner was attended by the South African Rugby Sevens players and 260 corporate company representatives, and it turned out to be a fully booked-out, roaring success.
AGS Four Winds was able to donate a prize to the value of HK$5,000, rather than simply helping to subsidise the event. Brand sponsorship on the programme, goodie bags, and a pull-up banner at the entrance of the famous Hong Kong Jockey Club, were all arranged by Danielle Goldman.
Danielle Goldman arranged and hosted AGS Four Winds’ first tram party in Hong Kong on April 24. The party was held for their loyal and potential clientele, and it took place on one of Hong Kong’s antique trams which travels continuously across the island. The tram party was a two hour journey with the attendees taking in the sights and sounds of Hong Kong’s bustling nightlife.
