LATECOERE Rally: AGS on the path of aviation’s pioneers
|
|
|
AGS is proud to announce the participation of two retired AGS directors to the Latécoère Rally 2015.
From October 2 to 17, Jean-Pierre Labescat, a dedicated aficionado of the Rally, and Didier Bertay, who will participate for the first time, will take off on a 9158km journey on the trail of the Aéropostale and Latécoère routes, from Toulouse to Dakar.
These two passionate men both started their career within the army before joining the AGS Group. They honour the Group’s colours by taking part in a sporting, historical and human adventure which aims to support solidarity projects and promote the Francophone community.
Following his career as a paratrooper within the army, Jean-Pierre Labescat joined AGS in 1991 as Branch Manager for the Tarbes branch.

For 23 years, he ensured the success and development of the branch. This is his 5th participation in the Rally.
Didier Bertay started his career at AGS Tarbes in 1993. Between 1995 and 2014, he directed in succession AGS branches in Gabon, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Senegal and Poitiers.

Similar to his fellow traveller, he previously served in the army for over 15 years in France and in the French Overseas Territories. He first served in a military unit before joining a commando unit as a non-commissioned officer president.
AGS will make resources available to contribute to community projects within each of the Rally’s destination cities: Rabat, Casablanca, Fez, Cape Juby and Saint-Louis in Senegal. The AGS branches will also provide logistical support to the pilots. The latter will use the technical skills and human qualities they have demonstrated throughout their career, for the success of an adventure combining passion and citizen activism – two values that are dear to AGS.
