RESTRICTIONS ON IMPORTS AND EXPORTS TO NHAVA SHEVA PORT, MUMBAI

Dear Partners and Colleagues

An incident involving two vessels occurred at sea on Saturday, 7 August, in the vicinity of the Nhava Sheva port, Mumbai. As a result, restrictions have been placed on the movements of container vessels, to and from the port.

Authorities at the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) have imposed these restrictions until further notice.

A number of vessels, awaiting berthing since Saturday, have been affected by the restrictions. In order to reduce the cargo backlog at the port, all import and export services, as well as acceptance of bookings at New Delhi’s inland container depots, have been temporarily suspended.

Please contact the branch manager Frazier Martins at AGS Four Winds Mumbai, should you need any additional information.

Best regards
