As per current Russian law, all foreign citizens (except diplomats) have to pay €4 per kg but no less than 30% of the customs value of their shipment to import their goods into Russia (import duties). Other rules may apply to returning Russian citizens and you are therefore required to check with AGS Froesch Moscow about those shipments in each individual case.
We kindly draw to your attention that the payment of import duties for each individual shipment must be in the customs bank account before the shipment arrives for customs clearance to avoid additional costs for demurrage, warehouse handling and storage at the customs bonded warehouse. The import duties must be paid in advance before the shipment can be cleared and released by customs.
AGS Froesch Moscow is able to offer the following handling procedures for import duty payments:
1. Payment by the shipper himself
In this case the client has to make the payment from his own private Russian bank account. The exact amount will be calculated by AGS Froesch Moscow and provided to the client. Additionally, the client will receive very detailed instructions on how to make the bank transfer that must be strictly followed. The bank transfer can take 2 to 3 working days. This has to be taken into consideration when timing the shipment.
2. Payment through a foreign bank account
In this case the client, his company or any third party has to make the payment by bank transfer to our German bank account at WINCO GmbH. The exact amount will be calculated by AGS Froesch Moscow and provided to the client in accordance with the calculated amount for import duties. We will issue an invoice for WINCO. In addition to the import duties an amount of 3% of the import duties plus an administration fee of €150 needs to be added. After receiving the invoiced amount into our WINCO bank account, we will transfer this to the AGS Froesch bank account in Moscow and then to the customs bank account. Bank transfers can take up to 8 working days from the date of arrival in the WINCO bank account. This has to be taken into consideration when timing the shipment.
3. Payment through the shipper`s employer by a Russian company
In this case the employer has to make the payment by bank transfer from his Russian bank account to the bank account of AGS Froesch in Moscow. The exact amount will be calculated by AGS Froesch Moscow and provided to the client in accordance with the calculated amount for the import duties. We will issue an invoice to the client. In addition to the import duties, an amount of 3% of the import duties plus and administration fee of €150 needs to be added. After receiving the invoiced amount in our AGS Froesch Moscow bank account, we will transfer this to the customs bank account. Bank transfers can take 2 to 3 working days from the date of arrival in the AGS Froesch Moscow bank account. This has to be taken into consideration when timing the shipment.
AGS Froesch Moscow cannot be held responsible for any delay in the delivery of the shipment or any additional costs, where this policy and/or our individual payment instructions have not been followed.
We also have to point out that, besides the payment of import duties, all relevant customs documents as per our instructions must be released to us in time to ensure effective customs clearance and avoid any delay which could result in additional costs for demurrage, warehouse handling and storage at the customs bonded warehouse.
Finally we remind you to avoid sending any shipment to Russia without receiving our green light in advance.
