MOROCCAN IMPORT RESTRICTIONS ON USED VEHICLES

Dear Partners & Colleagues

Kindly note that, according to article 96 of decree 2-10-421 of 29 September, 2010, second hand vehicles older than five years may not be imported into Morocco. This decree came into force on 20 January, 2011.

For second hand vehicles older than five years, a temporary admission period of six months is still possible. In this instance, the customer will have to export the vehicle from Morocco within this six month period. This procedure will not apply to diplomats with ‘diplomatic corps’ status.

Finally, all vehicles and motorcycles must be officially approved by the Moroccan government from now on.

For more information on this subject, please contact Jean-Noël Boulnois, manager of AGS Frasers Morocco, or Solho Mwamba, the coordinator for Morocco at the Africa Desk.
