Branch of the Month – AGS Frasers Mauritania

This month, the AGS Group applauds AGS Frasers Mauritania for providing a consistently exemplary service, earning them “Branch of the Month”.

Present for over 15 years in this multi-faceted country presenting many challenges, AGS Frasers Mauritania accompanies hundreds of expatriates each year in their relocation, and never fails to provide the best service.

After receiving a letter of praise from the U.S. ambassador a few days ago, the AGS Group now wishes to reward the efforts made by all employees of this outstanding branch.

The AGS Group thanks each and every staff member for their efficiency, organization, kindness, diligence and problem-solving abilities. This branch was commended for being highly efficient, organised, friendly, hard-working and accommodating.

Currently under the guidance of the branch manager, Jean Louis Dutech, this subsidiary is proof of a successful company in a continent where modern infrastructure is relatively poor. However, despite these challenges, this branch offers the following world-class services:

• Door-to-door removal of household, personal and office effects.
• Customised solutions for domestic and international moves, to and from anywhere in the world.
• Packing and crating services.
• Handling of air, road and sea shipments.
• Short- and long-term storage.
• Motor vehicle transportation and storage services.
• Receiving, handling and storage of steamship containers.

Although AGS Frasers Mauritania has only eight staff members, it is one of the best-run branches in Africa. Key personnel have been in the industry for many years, and their experience ensures that service excellence is continuously delivered.

Congratulations to AGS Frasers Mauritania for being the first to receive this accolade – it is well deserved.

AGS Four Winds Bangalore delivers a donation of books

AGS Four Winds Bangalore has proven its support for the promotion of international cultures by sponsoring the delivery of 6,000 French books to the Alliance Française of Bangalore, all provided by the French association “Le Bouquin Volant”.

Although second hand, these books are in perfect condition and are donated by French libraries or individuals. The French association sends these books to schools, associations or libraries, upon request. In 2009, more than 110,000 books were shipped around the world.

The AGS Four Winds Bangalore branch organised everything from clearance to delivery of thousands of books to the final destination in the Karnataka state, where Bangalore Alliance Française has recently opened several centres in Mysore, Mangalore, and Manipal, and soon in Belgaum. The Alliance Française is a network of teaching and learning centres devoted to the promotion of French language and culture.

AGS Four Winds Bangalore is pleased to have participated in this operation and to support the development of foreign culture in Bangalore.

AGS Four Winds Jakarta: a passionate and committed branch

AGS has reaffirmed its support of the United Nations Global Compact by planting one tree for every international move of 10m ³.

More than 10,000 trees will be planted in Mali and Indonesia by the end of the year as part of this environmental campaign.

AGS Four Winds Indonesia has invested much of its time in promoting the "1 Move = 1 tree planted” campaign, and has actively supported this reforestation drive.

The campaign is particularly close to the hearts of staff at the branch who have taken it a step further.

The branch saw the opportunity to promote the campaign while participating in different events by distributing pamphlets and “eco-bags” bearing messages for the protection of the environment. While distributing these promotional items, staff took the time to explain the reason for the campaign and its’ commitment to the preservation of the planet.

For decades, millions of trees have been felled in Indonesia. At particular risk are the mangrove forests that are a rich source of timber and biodiversity. It is estimated that deforestation has increased to two million hectares annually.

Deforestation in Indonesia became a concern in the 1970s, better known as the “timber boom” era, when demand for this valuable resource increased. Indonesia is now one of the biggest exporters of timber in the world.

AGS Four Winds Indonesia, however, understands the importance of reducing the impact of its activity on the environment. And promoting the campaign has given the branch the ideal opportunity to work towards its environmental goals. Clients have shown great interest in doing business with the branch in support of the campaign.

Well done AGS Four Winds Indonesia! Your hard work will see this worthy cause grow. Your hearts are leading the way.
