AGS Alsace joins Strasbourg Propeller Club

AGS Alsace

As part of the AGS commitment to positively engage in the communities in which we operate, AGS Alsace has joined the Strasbourg Propeller Club. AGS Alsace also supported the Strasbourg Propeller Club’s 30th Anniversary on board of the MS France docked in Strasbourg.

The gala event brought together a high profile cross section of the community’s professional, political and technological leaders including the President of the Strasbourg Port and member of the European parliament, Catherine Trautmann.

The Propeller Club is a non-profit association founded in 1927 in New York with more than 13 000 members at over 200 harbours worldwide. The vision of the Club is to build strong networks, share industry best practise and foster development in the maritime sector.

AGS Alsace is proud to be part of this Club and looks forward to continuing to develop strong business networks, exchanging information and supporting common international projects.

AGS Troyes and AGS Alsace recently sponsored the AM Motor Racing Competition Team. The team from Troyes, France is taking part in the Endurance World Championship that takes place across the globe.

This year both AGS branches have joined forces to focus their attention on Number 110, a Suzuki 1000GSXR motorcycle in the AM Moto Racing competition (pictured).

This fireball will be on the starting line of prestigious races like the French “Bol d’Or” and ‘Les 24h du Mans” and will be wearing AGS colours overseas (in Qatar, the United Kingdom and Spain).

The first Championship round was held on 14 and 15 April at the Nevers Magny-Cours circuit for the famous “Bol d’Or”, but unfortunately the team had to abandon the race due to a massive pile up.

A mechanical issue during the 8 hours of Doha led the team to the same result despite being in a promising first position at the time. Incidentally, the custom-made air crates used to ship the motorcycle to Qatar were built by AGS Troyes.

Despite these recent results, the team will continue their partnership with AGS for the next round on 11 August 2012, for the 8 hours of d’Oschersleben in Germany.

AGS will keep a close eye on the performance of this motorcycle throughout the World Championship.

AGS Alsace sponsors soirée organised by French West Indian and Guianan communities in Alsace.

The annual carnival soirée organised for by the European Group Representing the French West Indies and Guiana (CERAG) took place on 3 March, 2012 in Griesheim, 10 km away from Strasbourg. AGS Alsace participated in this event following an invitation from the organisation’s president.

This new partnership highlighted AGS’s involvement with the French West Indian and Guianan communities in France, and in Alsace in particular.

Around a Caribbean meal and a wonderful evening of dancing and relaxation, the organisation gathered more than 250 members and supporters affiliated with these festive cultures from the French Overseas Territories (FOTs). To add a bit of spice to the evening, CERAG organised a raffle and AGS co-sponsored some prizes.

Well done to AGS Alsace for taking part in this event and for its support of overseas communities based in France!
