AGS Four Winds celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival September 2008

On September 15, Asia will celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival. This festival is a major event in Asia and consequently our offices in China and Korea will be closed Monday, September 15.

This second festival of the Chinese calendar celebrates the full moon, a symbol of family unity, in the evening of the 15th day of the eighth lunar month.

The Mid-Autumn festival is celebrated with dancing, feasting, moon gazing, and the eating of mooncakes, which may be filled with dates, nuts, fruit, or even Chinese sausage meat. The salty yolk in the middle represents the full moon.

In China, these festivities will be followed by a week`s vacation, from September 29 to October 5, for the commemoration of the founding of the People`s Republic of China on 1 October, 1949.

AGS Four Winds Hong-Kong will be closed on 1 and 7 October.

Kindly note that in order to prevent demurrage, shipments should be sent to the Port of Shanghai before 18 September.

For further information, please contact our branches directly.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our partners and colleagues a very happy Mid-Autumn festival.
