AGS Four Winds Hong Kong Moves an International School

During the recent 2007 Summer school holiday, AGS Four Winds moved Kellett School, an international school in Hong Kong, into a new 8-storey extension off their current premises.

AGS’ operations manager, Joseph Wong, co-ordinated the move, involving over 1600m³ of school equipment and files, in 3 phases

The first phase that commenced just after the beginning of the school holidays, involved packing and moving school equipment and material that was stored in the school's main hall whilst the new extension was being completed.

The new extension meant a re-configuration of the entire school. The removal of the musical instruments and computer equipment, as well as the dismantling of thelibrary, needed special care and organisation.

The second phase took place at the end of August, at which point the stored items were moved into the new extension. Extra precaution was taken to avoid damage to the new walls and flooring.

The third phase, which involved unloading and delivering two 40ft containers of new imported furniture, followed shortly afterwards. The deadline was met as the move was completed in time for the start of the new school year.

Kellett School is an independent international school which follows the British school curriculum. AGS Four Winds Hong Kong has a long-standing relationship with Kellett School, and is proud to have been of assistance in its expansion.

AGS Four Winds Assists GIVES in Fund-Raising Initiative

The Guangdong International Volunteer Expatriate Service (GIVES) is one of Guangdong’s major foreign volunteer organizations. Its mission is to offer assistance to the underprivileged of the Guangdong province, whilst working closely with relevant social welfare agencies and local communities.

This year, on 4 November, GIVES hosted its 8th Annual International Food and Fun Fair, which was held in a magnificent residential area in Guangzhou, called ‘The Golden Lake Garden’.

The proceeds from the 2007 International Food and Fun Fair will be used for the construction of China’s first integrated rehabilitation centre for Autistic children.

This 800m² centre in Tianhe will focus on Autism treatment, research and education and is being considered as a model for future centres to be developed around the country.

AGS Four Winds Guangzhou’s staff manned their own hot dog stands and donated their earnings to the development of the Autism rehabilitation centre.

Once again, this proves the commitment of AGS Four Winds and its staff to worthwhile charity causes.

Boxing Raises Funds to Help the Youth

AGS Four Winds Hong Kong recently co-sponsored a Boxing Smoker in conjunction with the British Chamber of Commerce. This annual event has been sponsored by AGS Four Winds over the last 4 years, and is one of the most popular events in the British Chamber of Commerce's calendar, with over 500 people attending this year's boxing event.

Apart from sponsoring, AGS Four Winds is also responsible for moving the boxing ring to and from its storage location to the boxing venue. This involves an early Saturday morning start so that the ring can be assembled in time for the event, which is to take place on Saturday evening. The ring is then disassembled and returned to its storage location during the early hours of Sunday morning. Logistical control was handled by Operations Manager, Joseph Wong.

The Boxing Smoker raises funds for Operation Breakthrough, which helps disadvantaged young people through sporting activities. With the use of live and online auctions, together with cash donations, the event raised over USD 60,000.

AGS Four Winds was represented by Corporate Sales Manager, Amine Loukia, who presented prizes after the second contest. Amine hosted a table of 11 invited guests, including the new principal of the French International School. The principal’s recent inbound move was handled by AGS Four Winds Hong Kong, on behalf of AGS Frasers Burkina Faso.

Owing to AGS Four Winds Hong Kong’s involvement in the

Boxing Smoker, in joint sponsorship with the British Chamber of Commerce, the event was nothing short of exhilarating and entertaining.

AGS Four Winds and Australian Expats in Alliance

On 3 November 2007, the Australian International School, Hong Kong, held its annual fair, titled: "Year of the Surf Lifesaver". The fair is an important event in the school’s calendar, and an excess of one thousand people attended the fair this year.

The ‘Year of the Surf Lifesaver’ originated as a result of the Australian Government announcing 2007 as the year in which to commemorate the ongoing contribution made by surf lifesavers. This commemoration is celebrated by Australians, wherever they may be living globally, including those residing in Hong Kong.

The funds raised usually go to upgrading or providing new resources for the school. This year the school's goal was to pay for the upgrade of the Language Laboratory, in order to develop and enhance their linguistic program.

AGS Four Winds was present at this event as a generous supporter, with the company sponsoring the Beach Café, which supplied a large variety of refreshments and food to the participants and guests throughout the day.

The AGS Four Winds team (Amine Loukia and Marie Ordines) distributed leaflets and corporate gifts, and provided information and advice to many people, as there was a large number of attendees at the fair who will possibly be relocating in the near future.
