AGS France’s environmental commitment now certified
|
|
| |
AGS Paris is proud to announce that our operations in France have recently been certified as AFAQ ISO 14001:2004 compliant - a rare achievement in the removals industry, and further proof of AGS’ commitment to environmental sustainability.
This certificate - issued by AFNOR - is valid for three years, and certifies that AGS France has implemented an effective Environmental Management System.
Specific environmental focus areas for AGS France have included:
|
|
- Debris management: wood, metal and plastic items of debris remaining after removals are sorted to improve waste recycling efficiencies and reduce costs.
- Packing material: Close attention is paid to the quantity of packing material used, as well as removal teams’ adherence to the good practise of returning any unused packing materials. Previously, purchase policy has been deployed in order to select eco-responsible suppliers.
- Logistics: Shipments are consolidated wherever the destinations and clients permit this, to optimise the efficiency of removal logistics.

“AGS France has already for many years been concerned by its environmental impact as we have very strong Corporate Social Values in the AGS Group, so this certification was a natural step for AGS France and a way to highlight our proactive initiatives,” explains Sophie Lucas, AGS France’s Managing Director.
“These include using the river to haul containers from the Port of Le Havre to Paris; AGS’ investment into the European liftvan to minimise the empty space in our trucks; and the carbon print analysis we are offering our major clients since 2012, so they can measure their own impact on the environment too.” |
