Important renovations at Cotonou port will start in December, 2010, and are expected to last for about six (6) months. The southern section will be completely rebuilt and the rest of the quays will also undergo reconstruction.
Cotonou port is adequately prepared to manage operations during the 6 month renovation period. However, we strongly advise that you source more information from the shipping companies when booking your freight for shipment to Niger. Some shipping companies will recommend Lomé as an alternative route and others will maintain their route via Cotonou.
In spite of this, congestion, delays and additional charges at Cotonou port are to be expected.
AGS will be able to make freight bookings for agents.
