Mover’s Occupation (Manual Handling)
Removals encompass the manual handling and transportation of heavy objects - two dangerous activities if not handled correctly.
The handling of material goods includes carrying and moving (an operation which usually causes fatigue, pain and back injuries). Handling heavy objects can cause short-term problems and be damaging in the long term.
AGS’s Hygiene and Safety Manual
Because of these occupational hazards, we have created a hygiene and safety manual which each employee has to read and abide by.
This guide includes detailed advice, including the position to adopt when handling and lifting a load and how to handle a heavy object.
This manual includes advice on avoiding any distraction that could cause an accident while driving. Constructive behavioural habits, applied before and during driving can, in fact, drastically reduce the number of accidents.
AGS Drivers’ Comfort
At AGS we understand that the work of driver is a difficult one, so AGS trucks are built to optimise the drivers’ comfort. The trucks have a comfortable sleeper cabin, a fridge and the air conditioning can be utilised for up to eight hours while the engine is switched off. On the back of the truck a tail lift facilitates the handling of goods from ground level or a loading dock to the level of the load bed of the vehicle.
