Global Compact

For several years the AGS Group has promoted sustainable development by incorporating economical, ecological and social aspects into its work functions. Our participation in the Global Compact formalises our adherence to these principles which AGS has already been practising for a number of years.

Why Global Compact?

The AGS Group chose to adhere to the United Nation’s Global Compact after careful consideration. Whereas the ISO 14001 standard only focuses on the environmental aspect of its members' activities, Global Compact goes even further with its ten universal principles.

Our Objectives

Environmental:

Continually reducing our carbon footprint by:

  • Implementing initiatives throughout all AGS branches which are practised locally
  • Promoting actions to partners to reduce their carbon footprint.

Social:

  • Continue working with partners to eradicate child labour
  • Act against corruption.

Our Actions

Environmental:

  • Building new premises in London, equipped with photovoltaic panels and reversible air source heat pumps
  • The creation of the European Lift Van, which can be transported via standard carriers, thereby avoiding the transportation of partially-filled containers
  • Centralisation of the supply of packing material to all branches which ensures that recycled material is used.

Social

  • Promotion of tolerance and equity values throughout our multicultural Group, which employs people in 78 countries
  • Investment in training employees locally and at headquarters
  • Creation of an international code of good behaviour which outlines the rights and duties of all AGS employees, while taking into account local laws and regulations
  • Collaboration with all commercial partners to reduce child labour in specific countries.
